Health benefits of sprouting

Sprouting is procesthat has been known for a long time and is now becoming increasingly popular. Why? Because the seeds are loaded with nutients to ensure proper plant growth. Soaking in water starts this process and we can get vitamins, enzymes and other nutritients of the best quality! All we have to do is pay attention to which seeds are going to be germinated and follow the preparation procedure. Try for example mung bean seeds, beets, radishes or yellow mustard. Sprouts contain large amonts of vitamin C and K, in addition to enzymes and fiber that support digestion and fat burning and help regulate blood cholesterol levels. So, will you try them too? :-)

Direction

For germination, it is important to use organic quality sprouts that are not treated with unwanted pesticides or other chemicals. Fill a sieve with mungo beans and wash them thoroughly under running water. Pour the mung beans into a bowl and pour in double the amount of water. Cover with a saucer or napkin and leave to stand overnight at room temperature. The next morning, wash the beans again in a sieve under running water, but this time let the excess water drip and leave them in the sieve leaning against the bowl. Rinse them like this 1-2 times a day, even in the morning and evening when you are at home. Repeat the process the next day and from day 3 you can see the beans sprouts!

“The third day you can already see the beans sprouts!”

At this point, you can transfer the sprouted mung beans to the refrigerator and stop the process or continue for another 2 days. It depends on your taste.

My tip

I personally let the sprouts germinate for about 4 days and then store them in the fridge for 2-3 days before we eat them. I add sprouts to various dishes. In the morning for breakfast with my favourite Avotoast, at lunch in soup or in the evening with salad or meat. Try sprouting and let me know which foods you like best!
