The strawberry season is here and that's why I have wrote for you this month a little inspiration on how to enjoy them to the maximum and prepare from strawberries, for example, this excellent homemade jam without any added sugar. During my consultations, parents often ask me how they should do it in the morning with healthy breakfast, when they don't have time to have it together with their children and often just buy something quickly on the way to work. So even for these cases I have a solution for you in today's article, read on :-)
Strawberry Chia Jam

2 cups of strawberries
2 tablespoons of Chia seeds
1 vanilla pod
Preparation time:Â 15 minutes
Portion:Â for 4 people

Directions:
Mash the well-washed strawberries and put them to boil in a saucepan. Then turn off the heat, add the vanilla and chia seeds and mix well. Leave to cool and put in a glass jar.
You can store the jam in the fridge for 3 days, but we ate it even earlier :-)
Sugar
Yes, this version is really completely SUGAR FREE and tested by my son who loves it. I only sweeten with fruits, vanilla, coconut or 100 % nuts butter. These ingredients have a naturally sweet taste and our receptor cells can perceive it. Try make this jam with your kids too. You need only 3 ingredients and it´s ready in 15 minutes! You will definitely have a lot of fun and the children will enjoy the goodies they have prepared together with you.
Nutritional point
Strawberries
Who doesn't like these sweet treats, which are now all around us? Did you know that their red color is due to an antioxidant called anthocyanin? When consumed regularly, this antioxidant helps to protect the cells of our body from damage. Strawberries are also a source of potassium, manganese, fiber and vitamin C. In 1 cup of strawberries, we find more vitamin C than in an orange and thus support the proper functioning of our immune system.
Chia seeds
Chia seeds is an excellent source of quality fats called Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs)Â . This PUFAs are the basic building blocks of lipids, which our body then use for the formation of cellular tissues, and then, for example, for the proper functioning of the brain and heart. Since they belong to the essential substances, our body cannot produce them. PUFAs have a big impact on cognitive performance, increase memory, ability to learn and concentration and they should therefore be part of not only our but especially our children's menu.
